Letter - There's Something Fishy About Martin
Dear Sir,
In typical New Labour style Martin Salter didn’t answer my questions but instead misrepresented Green Party policies in his letter last week. He says we oppose removing graffiti when we wnt to tackle its causes, while Labours policy is unsustainable. We want to reduce traffic by increasing cycle lanes and reducing bus fares, he wants to build roads and bridges at enormous cost and environmental impact that still won’t reduce congestion. Rather than believe him, read our policies for yourself at www.readinggreenparty.org.uk or our letters in this newspaper, back issues are available at libraries. Unlike Labour, thanks to the increasing number of disillusioned voters our share of the vote has been going up while his has been decreasing.
In response to my point about Labour policies being the cause of
reducing fish stocks and increased problems for travellers, he doesn’t comment, perhaps he agrees with me. He doesn’t respond to my point that he is encouraging racism against Polish people by accusing them of stealing. It is true that communities have cultural differences; it makes life more interesting for example to have a wide choice of different things to eat. I prefer the Polish culture of hard work above the spin of the New Labour any day.
